Jocelyn sometimes helps Julian Tepper, the Executive Director of the Coffee House Club (in residence @ the Salmagundi Club), to program speakers.
She coordinates Breaking the Audio Fiction Form (BTAFF) with James Scully and Julian — these are usually Wednesday evening events. She coordinates various Coffee House Club Luncheons with Julian — these are usually Friday afternoon events.
More:
The Coffee House Club is a private social club on the cusp of its 110th anniversary. Currently located in a beautiful historic townhouse on 5th Avenue at 12th Street (the Salmagundi Club: 47 5th Ave, New York, NY 10003), a location on the list of New York City landmarks and on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Members and non-members congregate for companionship, conversation, debate, and the pleasure of each other's company. The Coffee House holds dinners on Wednesday evenings following a speaker or musical performance, and Friday lunches, where a guest speaker comes to inspire. Speakers for the Coffee House Club events come from all backgrounds and disciplines; artists of all kinds, writers, politicos, administrators, lawyers, health workers, and on and on. There is little restriction on form and content. No rules or officers.
The goal — post pandemic — is to revitalize New York's artsy, network-y, social scene with great discussion, food and drink in a beautiful, historic building.
Note: Friday evening speakeasies have started (5:30pm), proposal from Dorothy Wiggins.
