NYC. Staging Film is partnering with The Tank, and this new series will launch on October 12th, 2017.
Staging Film is a community of theater makers exploring new ways to tell stories on film. We meld the contemporary American stage and screen to create short translations rather than adaptations. This means experimenting with untraditional techniques in cinematography, set design, sound design, and performance to record the visceral magic of theater on camera. The result is something that does not fit neatly into a defined medium, but rather shines in the liminal space between. Staging Film's Over The River & Through The Woods - written by Tony & Olivier Award nominee Neil LaBute, directed by Tony nominee Leigh Silverman, scored by Tony nominee Heidi Rodewald, shot by Moti Margolin, edited by Tim Harms, & starring veteran actor Larry Pine & me - will, by invitation, screen at The Tank on October 12th in New York City. And Staging Film's Domesticity - written by Chisa Hutchison, directed by Rebecca Atkinson-Lord, shot & edited by Jonathan Rapoport, starring me - will screen at The Tank on October 12th, as well. London.
