NYC. Today, two short films I helped make will be broadcast on CUNY TV: The Bad Infinity and 16 Words or Less. Below is a picture of a panel discussion held during the pandemic for The Bad Infinity. (l-r, by row) Jaime Carrillo, Tony Torn, Alex Basco Koch, Jocelyn Kuritsky, Jake Hart, Ron Cohen, Jan Leslie Harding. And below is a picture taken after a private screening held for Ron Cohen, right before the pandemic. The last film Lynn (his wife) made before she died was The Bad Infinity. (l-r) Graham Sack, Joel Bernstein, Ann Blackstock, Ron Cohen, Jocelyn Kuritsky, Jody Christopherson, Florencia Lozano. Had a hard time getting everyone to look at the camera at the same time! Both Jaime Carrillo and Ron Cohen have passed since these events. We mourn and remember both Jaime and Ron. You can read more here.
NYC. CUNY TV Presents will broadcast The Bad Infinity and 16 Words or Less, starting November 24th, playing through December! Schedule here. These films hit the festival circuit during the pandemic, and now we are thrilled to share them with a larger and broader audience. A studio interview will also precede each episode. Tune in! NYC. My dear friend Ron Cohen died today. I regularly went over to his apartment to have lunch and chat with him about everything from politics to old films to extinct theater companies. I loved spending time with Ron, and always felt guilty, intense FOMO, whenever I left him. He was incredibly smart, witty, and engaging, all the time. The last time I saw him was earlier in the month. I will miss him so. Here is a beautiful obituary in the WWD.
