I can't believe I'm writing this... Jaime Carrillo and I reconnected during the pandemic. We spent many hours on Zoom just chatting about life, art, work, family. He helped me set up a dating profile. He participated in a virtual panel discussion for The Bad Infinity. We traded secrets about artistic aspirations. And the last time I heard from him, he just texted to tell me he was thinking about me. I thought I'd have the opportunity to see him in person, give him a hug, grab coffee — maybe on a sprint through NYC or a random meetup in Boston, which we had discussed at the height of the pandemic.
I am so devastated to hear of his passing. I did not know he had been ill. Though he did indicate a life shift, he was very private. I regret not checking in with him more, hearing his voice and seeing his face. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. He was a star. Sending you love, sweet Jaime, wherever you are...
